This workshop is designed for midwives and midwifery students as first line primary providers of the newborn care to learn the importance of the initial examination. It focuses on recognizing normal newborn and common variations seen in real midwifery practice. It breaks the exam process into quick noninvasive understandable
assessments, discusses new testing guidelines for hearing & critical cardiac heart defects. Includes forms for documentation, referral and ‘pediatric introduction’.
