This workshop is designed for midwives, midwifery students, and medical assistants to learn the basics of venipuncture in a real midwifery practice. These skills are not often needed but can very helpful when circumstances arise that replacement fluids and medications are needed. IV certification is mandated by some jurisdictions for licensure and renewal. This workshop provides the attendees the
opportunity to practice the appropriate knowledge, skills and techniques for successful intravenous setup, maintenance, and removal with the careful supervision of a skilled instructor.
