HeartSaver AED, First Aid & CPR course, through American Heart Association, is ideal for BLS Healthcare Providers, with some amount of medical training.

In this course, participants will:
-Learn how to provide first aid
-Learn how to perform CPR on an adult and infant
-Learn how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
-Learn how to recognize opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies

Participants will receive a course manual and wallet card of the certification. Certification is good for two years.

Classes will be held at Acorn Community Birth Center, taught by Student Midwife Zha-nee Johnson!

Bio- This class will be taught by Tiffany Slade, IBCLC. Tiffany brings a wealth of knowledge surrounding lactation and maternal infant care to families with over 13 years of experience. Tiffany is a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Graduate Midwife, Full Spectrum Holistic Doula and mom to four beautiful kiddos.

Acorn Community Birth and Wellness Center will be closed for the weekend after Thanksgiving 11/28 - 11/30. We will re-open again Monday, 12/2.

This CPR Certification Class, through the American Heart Association, is recommended for BLS Healthcare providers. This course teaches participants how to recognize life-threatening emergencies and give high-quality chest compressions, deliver ventilations, and learn how to use an AED.

Acorn Community Birth and Wellness Center is partnering with Sarah Feinstein, CMT of Balanced Bodyworks to provide low-cost body work sessions to pregnant people who may be experiencing positioning challenges with their babies! If you are pregnant and your baby is breech, posterior ("sunny-side up"), or having challenges with being optimally positioned, these body work sessions are for you! Sarah is providing 1 hour -1 1/2 hour massage sessions at Acorn Birth Center the first two Wednesdays of the month to specifically address malpositions in pregnancy. 28-31 weeks gestation is the ideal time to begin to address these issues, although later gestations can also benefit.
