Birth in Our Birth Center
Welcome to your home away from home. Where our birth rooms are designed by midwives who know what your body needs in labor. Intimacy, privacy, safety, beauty. Birth your baby in water, squatting, on hands and knees, or in our comfortable beds. It is your choice, and we have all the equipment and amenities to do it your way. Plus, your family and loved ones have full access to our kitchen, outdoor patio, and classroom so that they can feel at home too.
Birth in Your Home
For both Karen and Cristi (both home birth parents themselves!), home birth is our first love. So for those who want the ultimate in personal choice and privacy, the midwives will attend your birth in your home. Imagine not having to travel in labor, being tucked into your own bed, and still having all the medical knowledge and equipment available that you would have in any birthing room. This is where midwifery became the art and science it is today, and we are happy to carry on the traditions of our foremothers.
There are many evidenced-based studies that show that physiological birth in the water reduces pain, eases stress, increases mobility to assist in the descent of baby, is extremely safe for both mom and baby, and can often shorten labor times. Called "the midwives' epidural", water birth contributes to a gentler transition into this world for your baby, making your baby's first impressions of this world as peaceful and kind as possible.
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
We are one of the only birth centers in Southern California to offer VBAC. The risk of VBAC is determined on an individual basis, but evidence-based studies have shown that a trial of labor after a previous Cesarean is a safer option than a repeat Cesarean. With proper management and education, you can achieve your dream of a vaginal birth! Our midwives are happy to schedule a free consultation with you to determine if you are appropriate for VBAC in an out of hospital setting.
